The Very Loud Indeed Co Omnisphere Cobalt
Omnisphere Cobalt is a collection of 120 cinematic patches for Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere 2.8, built from 188 exclusive sound sources created specifically for this release. Unlike many soundsets, Cobalt relies entirely on its own custom material, with no use of Omnisphere’s stock library or recycled content.
For this collection, a different approach was taken. Instead of recording traditional instruments or found objects, a wide range of sounds was first synthesized using various hardware and software synths. These were then recorded, heavily processed through an array of experimental effects, and finally transformed into raw sources within Omnisphere. The result is a unique blend—sounds that feel organic, yet originate from entirely synthetic sources.
Compared to previous releases, Cobalt leans cleaner and more refined, with a subtle retro character. It’s especially well-suited for scoring tension, suspense, and action-driven scenes.
The modulation wheel plays a central role throughout the library. In many patches, it can dramatically reshape the sound—sometimes transforming it into something completely different—encouraging exploration and expressive performance.
