Designed—but never originally built—the D.W. Fearn VT-15 unites the musical EQ of the VT-5 with the transparent, characterful compression of the VT-7 in one cohesive processor. Now reborn as a plugin, it delivers a complete tube signal chain that feels natural, responsive, and unmistakably musical.

Developed in collaboration with D.W. Fearn, the entire signal path has been modeled at the component level—capturing every transformer, tube stage, and the subtle interplay between EQ and compression. This isn’t just two processors combined, but a unified system where each stage enhances the other.

One chain. Limitless control.

The strength of the VT-15 lies in how its stages interact. You can shape tone into compression for a polished, controlled result, or reverse the order for a more dynamic, tone-driven response. Each section retains its identity while working in synergy, offering flexibility that goes beyond traditional channel strips.

Musical EQ, refined.

Inspired by the VT-5, the equalizer features carefully tuned curves designed for intuitive, musical shaping—now expanded with wider midrange control. The low shelves add weight without muddiness, mid cuts open space without thinning the sound, and high shelves bring air with a smooth, polished finish.

Compression that glues.

Driven by the VT-7, the compressor provides transparent, musical dynamics control with just the right amount of character. It can stay subtle, adding cohesion and glue, or be pushed for a more forward, harmonically rich tone. The Harder/Softer control lets you shift seamlessly from smooth and refined to bold and assertive.

Made for modern production.

Plugin-exclusive features expand the VT-15 for today’s workflows. A global wet/dry mix enables parallel processing, while pre- and post-filters offer additional tone shaping. With up to 8x oversampling, the entire chain maintains pristine audio quality from input to output.
