Musical Sampling Parker Oboe KONTAKT

Parker Oboe is a true legato oboe library performed by Dr. Andrew Parker, Associate Professor of Oboe at the University of Texas.

Recorded at Orb Studios in Austin, Texas, our goal was to create a responsive, agile instrument that could handle a variety of exciting orchestral contexts without any keyswitching.

The Workhorse patch is the all-rounder; performed with a confident mezzo-forte dynamic. Fat Lead is Andrew playing the oboe at full chat — great when you need bite, attitude and soaring melodies. Emotional offers a lyrical performance at mezzo-piano while Delicate explores the very soft, ethereal side of the instrument.

We’ve also captured a variety of inhale breaths with subsequent “pre-attack” air/tonguing noises — really helps sell the performance when peppered in before/in-between phrases.

MANUAL

With the Workhorse and Fat Lead patches, velocities 1-30 will play a softer attack, 31-114 triggers a more excited attack (with round robins) while 115-127 offers an immediate vibrato following the attack.

For Emotional and Delicate, playing legato at velocities 1-89 will activate performances with natural, progressive vibrato while 90-127 will play back performances with a quicker vibrato entrance — allowing you to enhance your vibrato phrasing on the fly within a melody.

The Breaths patch is a collection of inhales extracted from throughout the session. Integrating breaths before or between phrases can enhance your mockup, infusing it with a sense of presence and authenticity.
