Sonic Collective Malagasy Traditional Instruments With Tsanta Randri WAV
Found Sound Nation presents a unique collection of traditional Malagasy sounds, showcasing the rich musical heritage of Madagascar through an exceptional sample pack performed by multi-instrumentalist Tsanta Randri.
This library features authentic instruments such as the amponga lahy and tany (traditional drums from Madagascar’s central highlands), katsa (a coastal rattle), and the valiha—a distinctive highland bamboo zither played by the Merina people. Swung, harmonized plucked phrases from the valiha intertwine with metallic triplet rhythms of the katsa and the resonant, ringing tones of the amponga drums, creating a deeply textured and rhythmically intricate sonic palette.
Recorded both in Tsanta’s home studio in Antananarivo and on tour in Antsirabe, this collection offers a rare and intimate glimpse into Madagascar’s unique harmonic language and rhythmic identity.
