Sonic Collective Mongolian Strings & Throat Singing w Alexander Arkhincheev WAV
Found Sound Nation presents this sample pack of traditional Mongolian strings and throat singing with Alexander Arkhincheev. Recorded at a state of the art studio in Irkutsk, this pack features Buryat and Mongolian folk-influenced stylings on morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) along with tsoor (flute), aman huur (jaw harp) and ‘khoomei’ or diphonic singing. Rich bowed cello-like drones, overtone rich spiritual chanting, delicate trance-like refrains and more are featured in this eclectic collection.
Alexander Arkhincheev is an Irkutsk-based bandleader and multi-instrumentalist, who grew up in rural Siberia. Joining the prestigious Buryat State National Theatre of Song and Dance in Ulan-Ude, Alexander established himself as a master interpreter on numerous folk instruments, performing internationally and winning a series of awards in Russia, Mongolia and South Korea. Alexander’s ensemble SHONO reworks ancient uligers (epic myths) through the lens of traditional Buryat and Mongolian music and contemporary rock instrumentation.
