Valiumdupeuple Panarchy (Max for Live)

Panarchy is a Max for Live panning device built for producers who want precise, high-fidelity stereo placement. Designed with realism and detail in mind, it goes far beyond a standard DAW pan knob—offering a more natural, immersive way to position sounds in the stereo field.

Once you start using it, going back to a traditional pan pot feels limiting.

It also features a powerful real-time Doppler mode, giving you full control over movement and motion for dynamic spatial effects.

Inspired by high-end panning tools, Panarchy delivers comparable—often more flexible—results at a fraction of the cost. From subtle placement to extreme stereo design, it gives you full control over your mix space.

It works great on all audio, but truly shines on mono and narrow sounds, where its spatial processing can add depth and width. Fully compatible with Push 3 Standalone.

How It Works

Unlike traditional panning—which mainly relies on volume differences—Panarchy recreates how we actually perceive sound in real life, where multiple factors define spatial positioning.

It does this through five blendable “panning attributes”:

• Delay
Simulates the slight timing difference between ears.
Micro-delays help position sounds naturally across the stereo field.
Use the “x-lay” control to fine-tune the effect.

• Spectral
Recreates how your head filters sound depending on direction.
When a sound comes from one side, its tone subtly changes before reaching the other ear.
Use the “x-tral” control to exaggerate or refine this effect.

• Phase
A more experimental approach using phase shifting.
Uncommon, creative, and capable of producing unique stereo movement and width.

• Space
A creative reverb stage placed at the end of the chain (often feeding the opposite side).
Not focused on realism—this is for wide, dramatic stereo effects.

• Level
The classic volume-based panning found in DAWs, enhanced with a custom pan law.
Tip: Use sparingly and apply it last for best results.
